Bitumen 160/220

Grade 160/220

Description of bitumen 160/220

Bitumen penetration grade 160/220 is a standard penetration grade bitumen usually used as a paving grade bitumen for roadworks and also used to manufacture hot-mix asphalt. Our penetration grade bitumen is a petroleum grade bitumen, manufactured from fractional/vacuum distillation of crude oil. The grades of our bitumen are specified by the penetration and softening point test. The term 160/220 are actually its penetration range at 25°C (from 160 to 220 mm/10). Our penetration grade bitumen have a thermoplastic property which causes the material to soften at high temperatures and to harden at lower temperatures. This unique temperature and viscosity relationship is important when determining the performance parameters such as adhesion, rheology, application temperatures and durability.

Softening point and penetration of bitumen 160/220

Penetration grade bitumen supplied by jey pasargad is pure petroleum grade bitumen, manufactured from vacuum bottom by passing hot air. The bitumen supplied by jey pasargad is produced from remain of crude oil after cracking and removing hydrocarbon. It has penetration between 160~220 desi-millimeter and softening point between 35~ 43C. The penetration grade bitumen 160/220 has a thermoplastic property which is like as synthetic resin material which gets softer with heating and hardens when cooled. This grade has very strong viscosity compare to other grades.

Uses of bitumen 160/220

Bitumen 160/220 is suitable for road construction and repairs. It is also used in the manufacture of hot mix asphalt for bases and wearing courses.

Application of bitumen penetration grade 160/220

Bitumen penetration 160/220 is suitable for road construction and for the asphalt pavements with superior properties. This type of bitumen used in the manufacture of hot mix asphalt for bases and wearing courses.

Guaranty/warranty of bitumen

jey pasargad guaranty the quality of bitumen 160/220 with arrangement of international inspector to check quality and quantity of the bitumen during the loading to vessel and controlling the production by QC by batch test report before shipping. jey pasargad guaranty the quality to meet with ASTM/EN 12591.

Specification of penetration bitumen

Bitumen 100/150

Test of Bitumen 100/150 according to various methods to ensure its quality and performance. First, the penetration at 25°C, measured by IP 49, falls within the range of 160-220 mm/10. In addition, the softening point, determined by IP 58, ranges from 35°C to 43°C, ensuring the bitumen has the right consistency for its intended applications.

Next, the kinematic viscosity at 135°C, measured by IP 370, must be at least 135 mm²/s, indicating that the bitumen flows at an appropriate rate under high temperatures. Moreover, the flashpoint, tested by IP 36, is no less than 220°C, ensuring that the bitumen is safe to handle and use without risk of ignition.

Finally, the solubility in carbon disulfide (CS2), measured by IP 47, should be at least 99 wt%, confirming the purity of the bitumen. In conclusion, these specifications ensure that Bitumen 100/150 meets the required standards for durability, safety, and performance in various industrial applications.
